Method
Step 1: Get the popcorn ready
- You may pop plain popcorn in the microwave, on the stove, or in an air popper. You can obtain 10 to 12 glasses of it.
- Put the popcorn in a huge basin to mix or on a baking sheet coated with parchment paper.
- Take out any kernels that haven't popped yet so you don't get any unwanted surprises while you eat.
Step 2: Warm up the white chocolate
- Put 12 ounces of white chocolate chips or chopped white baking chocolate in a bowl that can go in the microwave.
- Put the mixture in the microwave for 20 to 30 seconds at a time, stirring it each time, until it is smooth.
- If the chocolate is too thick, you can add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil or butter to make it thinner.
Step 3: Add Peppermint and Assemble
- Put the melted chocolate on top of the popcorn.
- While the chocolate is still warm, sprinkle 1/2 cup of broken candy canes on top.
- Gently toss the popcorn so that each piece receives a beautiful layer.
- Let it cool down and then break it up
Step 4: Cool and Break Apart
- Let the popcorn sit out at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes, or until the chocolate solidifies. Or you can refrigerate it for 15 minutes.
- To serve the clusters, put them in a bowl or container that keeps air out.
- That's all there is to it! You can make a Christmas treat in less than 30 minutes!
