Ingredients

Essential Ingredients for Pizza Rolls
  • 1 can crescent roll dough – Pillsbury or any store brand works well.
  • 1 cup pizza sauce – Choose your favorite marinara or homemade pizza sauce.
  • 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese – For that gooey stretchy pizza texture.
  • ½ cup mini pepperoni or diced regular pepperoni – The classic choice!
Optional Toppings and Add-ins
  • Sautéed mushrooms
  • Diced bell peppers
  • Black olives
  • Cooked sausage or bacon bits
  • Spinach or arugula
  • Pineapple chunks

Equipment

  • Baking sheet (cookie sheet) To bake your rolls evenly.
  • Parchment paper or silicone baking mat Prevents sticking and makes cleanup easy.
  • Mixing bowls For prepping toppings like veggies, cheese, or meats.
  • Cutting board & knife To chop any add-ins (like bell peppers, mushrooms, or olives).
  • Spoon or small spatula For spreading pizza sauce onto the crescent roll dough.
  • Rolling pin (optional) If you want to flatten or adjust the crescent roll dough before filling.
  • Pastry brush For brushing melted butter, garlic butter, or egg wash on top before baking.
  • Cooling rack Helps pizza rolls cool without getting soggy bottoms.

Method

  1. Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients
  2. Before you start, set out all your ingredients so you’re not scrambling. Pre-shred your cheese, dice your toppings, and open the crescent roll dough.
  3. Step 2: Preheat the Oven
  4. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Crescent roll dough bakes best at this temperature, creating that soft, golden texture.
  5. Step 3: Prepare the Crescent Rolls
  6. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. You’ll see the pre-cut triangles. If you want larger rolls, pinch two triangles together to form a rectangle.
  7. Step 4: Assemble Your Pizza Rolls
  8. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each triangle.
  9. Add shredded mozzarella cheese.
  10. Place pepperoni or your favorite toppings.
  11. Roll them up gently from the wider side toward the tip, like a croissant.
  12. Tip: Don’t overstuff, or the fillings might leak during baking.
  13. Step 5: Bake to Perfection
  14. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the rolls seam-side down and bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown and bubbly.

  1. Classic marinara sauce

  3. Ranch dressing
